Now, drink wine like a Lannister
Just in time for the penultimate season of Game of Thrones, HBO is partnering with California’s Vintage Wine Estates for the Seven Kingdom Wines next year. The channel announced the partnership that will extend to produce a whole collection of Game of Thrones branded wines, including a Chardonnay, a proprietary red blend, a reserve-style Cabernet Sauvignon, which will also be based on some of the characters of the show.
Any aficionado of the show will testify to the fact that wine is the favourite tipple of the show’s characters. Wine is factored to be behind Tyrion Lannister’s sharp wit, and his now-famous line, “That’s what I do; I drink and I know things.”
The Game of Thrones wines will be available in 750 ml bottles in Spring 2017. The approximate retail price for the show branded Chardonnay and red blend will be $19.99 and the Cabernet Sauvignon will be priced at $39.99.
