UberEATS: Uber cool option
Who’s hungry, London? ‘UberEATS’ means a lot if it threw this question on Twitter this week. So there is news, definitely. The online transportation MNC is ready to serve if its customers starve in the UK. Making a huge expansion, Uber has forayed into the business of food delivery to doorsteps in the second UK city through its custom-made app.
The launch is with a network of 150 restaurants in the UK and the delivery mechanism will get into full swing with bicycles and courier mopeds. Serving 17 cities, the app can be accessed on Android and iOS platforms and is on 12 hours a day from 11 am to 11 pm. An express delivery – 30 minutes within placing the order — is the highlight Uber is trying to cash in on. On the rival side are similar apps ‘Deliveroo’ and ‘JustEat’.
Uber’s gastronomical tryst started off in 2014. During the time, it was christened UberFRESH in Santa Monica. The name UberEATS was adopted in the year 2015. In the coming weeks, Uber is expected to spread the network to cities in Central London. London is the second city in Europe to have UberEATS after Paris. Earlier, the UberEATS app was paired with its riding app and turned a separate entity in 2015.
