Vegans and vegetarians who are curious about the taste of KFC can now try out the closest vegan thing to crispy fried chicken. London will get its first all-vegan ‘fried chicken’ shop in January 2017.
Temple of Seitan, an exclusively vegan brand, offers seitan which is a meat substitute that is made from wheat gluten. Its standalone ‘chicken’ shop in Hackney will be serving seitan in sandwiches, tubs, and mac ‘n’ cheese burgers.
Let’s hope that this vegan ‘fried chicken’ turns out to be as good as if not better than the real stuff.
