US distillery makes cannabis infused vodka
Flavoured vodkas have won over the biggest cynics of the spirit. Today, you have the traditional fruit flavoured vodka and even interesting flavours like toffee vodka and whipped cream. Now, Humboldt Distillery in California has launched its cannabis-infused vodka called Humboldt’s Finest.
The makers claim that the vodka is free of tetrahydrocannabinol, the psychoactive compound found in cannabis, and hence won’t get its patrons high. This makes it possible to market the product across the US. In a statement, Abe Stevens, founder of Humboldt Distillery said, “Humboldt’s Finest doesn’t have the THC that you’d find in marijuana, so it’s not going to get anyone in trouble with the law. It does, however, retain a herbal and aromatic quality, reminiscent of fresh cannabis that gives it an almost gin-like character.” Currently sold in 750-milliliter bottles for $30 a pop, it is legal across every state in the US.
