Fernandez Hospital Launches Little Fernz Paediatric Inpatient Services

For decades, Fernandez has been trusted by generations of families for safe births, newborn care, and compassionate maternal healthcare.

In a city where generations of families have trusted Fernandez Hospital through pregnancy, birth, and newborn care, the hospital is now expanding that journey of care into childhood with the launch of Little Fernz, its dedicated Paediatric Inpatient Services across Hyderabad. Designed for children who require short hospital stays, close observation, and timely medical care, Little Fernz brings together expert paediatric support with the warmth, reassurance, and family-centred care that families have long associated with Fernandez.

For decades, Fernandez has been trusted by generations of families for safe births, newborn care, and compassionate maternal healthcare. With the introduction of Little Fernz, the hospital now extends that same trusted expertise and family-centred approach to children who require short hospital stays, close observation, and timely medical intervention.

When a child falls ill, families often need more than treatment alone. They need reassurance, attentive monitoring, expert clinical care, and the comfort of staying close to their child. Little Fernz has been thoughtfully designed to meet these needs, offering experienced paediatricians, dedicated nursing teams, child-friendly healing spaces, and mother-friendly rooms where parents can remain by their child’s side throughout recovery.

Dr Sunil Pawar, Head of Neonatology and Paediatrics, Fernandez Hospital, said: "When a child needs hospital care, timely treatment and close observation can make all the difference. Little Fernz brings together experienced paediatricians, dedicated nursing care, and a family-centred environment where children receive expert care while parents remain close throughout their recovery."

The new service is equipped to manage a range of common childhood conditions that may require observation or short-term admission, including fever-related illnesses, gastroenteritis and dehydration, bronchiolitis, asthma exacerbations, febrile seizures, mild pneumonia, and infants requiring closer monitoring.

Speaking about the launch, Dr Evita Fernandez, Chairperson and Managing Director, Fernandez Foundation, said: "For over seven decades, families have trusted Fernandez during some of life’s most precious beginnings. With Little Fernz, we are building on that trust by extending our care beyond birth and into the growing years of childhood. We understand how overwhelming it can be when a child is unwell, and our goal is to create a space where children receive expert care while families feel supported, reassured, and close to the people who matter most."

A key highlight of Little Fernz is its family-first approach, featuring mother-friendly rooms, child-focused nursing care, calm healing spaces, and round-the-clock monitoring by the paediatric team.
