Have you ever dreamt of walking the ramp with your best friend, namely your pet, dressed smartly by Chennai's top fashion designers? Well, that dream will come true for a lucky few and their four-legged pals participating inthe Chennai Pet Fashion 2020 event.

The novel concept was put together by none other than Chennai's well-known choreographer Jeffrey Vardon. At a visit to the People for Animals (PFA) shelter, he was so moved by the sight of the animals there that he thought of doing a fund raiser for them.

It is well-accepted that the Universe conspires to connect those with similar thoughts, especially where kindness is involved. And so it happened with Jeff. He called a friend, Nina Reddy, one of the founding members of the Duchess Club and the Head honcho of Savera Group, and the idea began to take shape. The Duchess Club has a furry friends group, which reaches out a helping hand to animals in need, taking them for medical treatment or spaying, or donating funds to animal shelters. All Nina had to do was to put the idea to the group, and it took hold.

Generous donations from well-wishers and friends have added to the kitty. The funds collected will be distributed to a few chosen animal shelters and individual animal rescuers. Some of Chennai's best-known vets will also be felicitated.

The highlight of the show will be that the pets will be dressed in costumes designed by some of Chennai’s top fashion designers; pet parents, also dressed in style, will walk them on the ramp.

A pet adoption corner and a variety of stalls including food outlets will be part of this fun-filled evening.

So, mark the date with pets - February, 2nd, 2020, at the Savera Hotel.
