Fabric speaking eternal love

Anu and Reshma of Label'M are the creators of the spectacular outfits worn by actress Bhavana on her wedding day.

On January 22, when actress Bhavana entered into wedlock with Kannada producer Naveen at Thrissur, all eyes were glued to the actress who looked gorgeous in her gold Kancheevaram saree paired with antique jewellery. There was a classic golden touch to the outfits she chose for her wedding. The amber brown lehenga saree that Bhavana wore on her engagement day too was an instant hit.

Designers Anu and Reshma of Label’M, the brains behind these stunning outfits, say, “For the engagement outfit, the layered lehenga skirt was fully embellished with pearl scattered work and heavy, embroidered chikankari as lining. The skirt was paired with an intricate pearl embellished blouse. To complete the look, the duppatta was highlighted with crystals, Swarovski stones and self-coloured pearls.”

The eternal love story of Radha and Krishna was the concept of Bhavana’s wedding saree. “Bhavana and Naveen had to face obstacles in their journey yet they decided to be together. Hence, we chose the eternal love story for them,” say the designers. “This exclusive creation came to life on an exceptionally handcrafted antique gold Kancheevaram silk saree. Our experienced craftsmen worked intricately on the masterpiece for days to acquire this perfection. This wedding ensemble stands for their unconditional love,” they add.

The classic saree was highlighted with a heavy double border and finished with antique metal sequins and beads, adding the touch of vintage elegance. “The ensemble was also accompanied with a spread of sequin flowers throughout the pleats and an intricate floral boota amidst the borders of the entire six yards. The choli, where drama came to life, was the star of the whole ensemble. It is where we embroidered the love of Radha and Krishna in its ethereal form,” they said.
Her attire for the wedding reception was inspired from ‘The Golden Bird’ story.

The ‘her feather is worth more than the whole kingdom’ ensemble was created in shades of gold. “This heavenly rose gold lehenga was embellished with a timeless concoction of exclusively sourced golden elements including rhinestones, sequins, etc. from Bengal. The embroidery was spread throughout the lehenga and choli,” they explain. “The silhouette was a contemporary bodycon twist to a classic lehenga with a back trail, which gave a sense of royal elegance and opulence to the golden lehenga. To complement the extra rich golden overdose, the ensemble was accompanied by a heavy dupatta in peach, which was nonchalantly draped over the lehenga and choli.”
