Six tips for glowing hair this monsoon

The monsoon season brings cool, rainy days and a refreshing break from the summer's heat. But, with the climate change can also come some trouble for your hair.

This kind of weather can make it hard for people, especially those on the go to manage and maintain a good hair care regime. Hair fall, greasy hair, dandruff and itchy scalp are just some of the issues you may be prone to in this weather.

 

Here are six easy tips for anyone to help maintain better hair care this season.

1 Use dry or mild shampoo
Dry shampoo is a good alternative for those who cannot afford to wash their hair everyday. It will help keep your scalp clean. If you have to wash your hair, use a mild shampoo and conditioner. However, try not to use products that contain harsh chemicals, as it will strip away the natural oils from your hair making it dry and brittle.

2 Nourish your hair with hot oil
Even though this weather can make your hair greasy, it still requires a lot of moisture and nourishment. Treat your hair with oil as regularly as possible. You can combine coconut oil with various essential oils to apply on your and  to massage your scalp. If possible, leave the oil overnight so it gets absorbed completely. Rinse it off the next day with mild shampoo. This will make your hair silky and smooth.

3 Skip the blow dry and opt for the towel
While it may be tempting to reach for the blow dryer, it can damage your hair by making it dry and frizzy. Opt to towel dry it instead. This will help make your hair less frizzy, stronger and easier to comb through.

4 Use a wide-tooth comb
Your hair is more prone to breakage because the weather can make it moist, damp and tangled. To get rid of the knots use a wide-toothed comb. You can also use your fingers to gently untangle your hair before you use the comb.

5 Leave your hair loose
Avoid tying your hair, especially when it is wet. Tying it will give you an itchy scalp and smelly hair. Get regular trims if it is becoming difficult to manage. This will help get rid of the split ends and give you a healthier look.

6 Apply natural hair mask
Hair masks can give your hair some much-needed nourishment and make it stronger to battle all of its many issues that come with this weather. Use good quality natural hair pack products. Homemade packs are also a great alternative. Warm oil, curd, honey and eggs are just some of the most effective ingredients for you hair.
