Flower got some power!

The floral print is back in vogue and it's absolutely perfect if you're looking to amp up your outfits with cold, winter nights setting in.

Floral prints are groundbreaking always and never fail to make the mark. With stripes and uncanny silhouettes fading out, the season is more welcoming of floral, lace and more slender silhouettes. The sarees are gorgeous of course, but even better are those cute shirts, skater dresses and pantsuits that are sure to catch your eye! We speak to fashion experts who tell us how to balance out the outfit with a floral theme, being innovative and more...

Pretty hues and patterns mimicking nature have an energy unlike anything else as city based fashion blogger, Nilu Thapa says, “I think floral is something that never goes out of style. I find these prints timeless. Personally, I love adding floral to my wardrobe as I feel these prints have that vibrant energy in them that transfers to you when you wear them. I have a couple of new floral dresses and this season, I want to team them with biker jackets as I feel a plain jacket is the best way to highlight the beauty of these prints!”

Teaming a floral print with solid, basic colours is the classic route to go as designer Deepta Raghunath adds, “Floral prints have surely made a comeback this season. I personally think it’s a must-have but you definitely can’t overdo it. It has to be styled carefully. Now, since off shoulders and capes and button down are in style, I think a nice cropped trouser with a well-fitted tee or tank can be worn with a floral cape. Or else, a well fitted pair of denims with floral appliquéd top like an off shoulder or drape style is also cool. Teaming a floral with another floral print is a huge no. Pair a floral shirt with a solid trouser or you could keep both the pieces solid and have a floral stole since we are stepping into winter now.”

Accessorising your floral outfit needs to be done with the same care that you would put into arranging a bouquet as fashion blogger Vasundhara Agarwal comments, “The floral trend gives you a chance to go all out if you don’t usually dress very loud. It’s a nice way to figure out what colours are flattering for you as it’s part of the print. Maxi dresses and skirts are amazing and compliment the trend beautifully. For accessories stick to a single metal colour like gold, silver or rose gold. You could also experiment with pretty stones like a layered chain with a turquoise stone pendant would be really beautiful.”
