Flower power: Floral hair accessories are trending on the fashion radar
The recent wedding of Virat Kohli and Anuksha Sharma created a quite a buzz among industry folk and fans alike. Every detail of the wedding from the food to the dress to the place and more was in the news. In an interview with the bride's hairstylist, Gabriel Georgiou mentioned that the bride wore Tuscan Hydrangeas. Floral hair accessories when worn give the outfit a very unique flare. This evergreen trend has been sported by other Bollywood stars like Alia Bhatt, Malaika Arora Khan, Parineeti Chopra and more.
Stating how it's best to avoid too many colours of floral accessories, hairstylist Surabhi Manoj says, “The current trend is to keep it simple. Bud flowers are in vogue now. Any white flower like jasmine and orchid are always there. Pink, peach and white go really well with the cool weather.” With the number of flowers that is seen in the market, brides really have a tough time selecting the perfect flowers. “Flowers with a silk touch are always a good choice for brides. Flowers always add romantic touch to the whole look. Roses, peonies, orchids, hydrangeas and jasmine work really well now,” she adds.
Weddings are places where one can spot an array of floral updos. Stylist Tarini N says, “If one is attending a wedding then the rose of any kind, lilly, solidaster, stephanotis and the always classic mogra will look really good.” Matching the right kind of floral accessories with right kind of outfits is the key to nail the overall look. Hairstylist Kulsum Parvez is of the opinion that, “With Indo western outfits – baby's-breath work really. But, if one wants to go traditional then it is better to stick to the evergreen jasmine flower. For gowns, one can club large flowers like carnations and small flowers like baby's-breath for a very sophisticated look.”
