The luckiest model ever?

The story of Nigerian bread-seller Olajumoke Orisaguna's transformation into a model within the span of a few days is the stuff of dreams.

Most models usually take part in photoshoots after they’ve scored contracts within the fashion industry. But this Nigerian bread-seller, Olajumoke Orisaguna, managed to appear on the cover of a fashion magazine in her country after accidentally walking onto a photoshoot of UK rapper Tiny Tempah, who happened to be visiting.

The Nigerian photographer who shot the photograph, Ty Bello, shared it on Instagram on February 1 asking people if they could identify the woman, saying that she would “help her build her portfolio” as a model. And on February 3 she posted a video of Olajumoke who said that they will now work together. Olajumoke, 27, also has two children.

Ty wrote that she had already begun helping Olajumoke move on from her life as a bread-seller, and on February 7 posted another photo of her — and this time, Olajumoke was gracing the cover of Nigerian fashion magazine This Day Style, and has now also scored a modelling contract with a local modelling agency.

Ty wrote about Olajumoke in another Instagram post, “As I listened to her, I wondered if the beauty I had seen on my screen as I edited my image was a fluke, well until she smiled, I realised that I was wrong, I had in fact, underestimated the beauty of this 27-year-old woman.”
