A Neediy' respite!

To begin with, microneedling is a derma-procedure for the face.

The beauty industry is buzzing about Microneedling. While so much is being written about, it is really worth the hype? We delve deeper...

To begin with, microneedling is a derma-procedure for the face. True to its title, this skin treatment has everything to do with micro needles. It is nothing like a facial, but neither is it as scary as it sounds. Minute needles on a roller pen are smoothly rolled over moist skin, making microscopic punctures all over the face. The procedure is not painful, nor does it trigger any sensation, because the facial skin is numbed with an antispectic cream before starting with the session.

Procedure: Microneedling entails pricking small holes all over your face. This in turn, stimulates the skin cells to rejuvenate; creating the formation of new skin cells and collagen. However, with the pluses come the minus. So, as a rule of thumb, consult your dermatologist before going ahead. It's not for sensitive skin or acne prone skin. Post the treatment, your skin requires extra care – Keep away from direct sunlight for 24 hours after the procedure.

The benefits of microneedling are aplenty – it helps reducing acne-induced scars and marks, blemishes, improves elasticity and even pigmentation. On an average, about six to eight sittings are required for best results. The cost of per session can vary from Rs 900 to Rs 1,500.

The post care of the procedure is very important and should not be ignored. It it strongly suggested to only settle for session, done from a recommended / well-reputed clinic.
