Exploring Singapore: Perfect Blend of Adventure, Relaxation, Scenic Beauty

Imagine waking up in the morning, stepping onto the balcony, and looking at a breathtaking view of a beach, a huge swimming pool, the sea, and plush greenery.

Sometimes, traveling can get hectic when we have to cover long distances to visit tourist attractions and vacation spots in a country. But imagine a place where everything is just 15 to 20 minutes away.

No, I’m not kidding. When I recently visited Singapore, I explored many places, all just minutes apart from each other. The trip wasn’t tiring at all because most of my time was spent exploring and enjoying the destinations rather than sitting in cabs for hours. It was truly amazing.
Imagine waking up in the morning, stepping onto the balcony, and looking at a breathtaking view of a beach, a huge swimming pool, the sea, and plush greenery.
It feels like magic, doesn’t it?
But this beauty is real. I experienced this scenic view at the hotel I booked during my visit to Singapore—Shangri-La Rasa Sentosa. This hotel made my holiday even more wonderful with its charm.
As soon as I left my room, I could see the expansive hotel and its swimming pool, ready to dive in. There were three different pools adjacent to each other: one for children, one for families, and another for adults. The thoughtful separation allowed everyone to enjoy themselves in their own way.

The swimming pool offered many fun activities, such as Aqua Jam, water polo, the Pong Challenge, stand-up paddleboarding, and log rolling.
Just a minute’s walk from the pool was the hotel’s private beach. It was a delight to sunbathe, relax, enjoy the view, and sip on a favorite cocktail or mocktail. At the beach, I saw people sunbathing, chatting with friends, partners, and families. The children were the happiest, playing in the sand and building sand structures. Many kids and adults played with the waves, some swam in the sea, and others indulged in water sports.

A five-minute walk from the beach led to more adventurous activities like zip-lining and bungee jumping. This was, without a doubt, the best trip I’ve ever taken. There was so much to enjoy in one place.
One night, the hotel organized a movie screening on the beach for all its guests. Watching a

movie by the sea with the sound of waves in the background, was an unforgettable experience I had in Singapore. Guests could also rent bicycles at the hotel and cycle wherever they wanted.

There was a spacious garden from where we could look at the sea. The sound of waves crashing and the surreal view were unforgettable.
My time there was a perfect blend of adventurous activities and soothing experiences, making it one of the best trips I’ve ever had. And I’m only talking about the hotel, one of Singapore’s finest. The entire country is a whole other story.
Although my recent trip was short, thanks to Shangri-La Rasa Sentosa, I made the most of it. I further indulged in other adventurous activities and visited a few places amazing places in the city-state.
The next day, I tried HyperDrive. It was an incredible experience. It was my first time go-karting and trying Mario Kart-style racing. They provided safety instructions and driving tips beforehand. In my first two rounds, my performance was poor, and I even hit the sides once, but I soon got the hang of it and did well.
Later, I went to HydroDash with a group of people, and I was thrilled. Though I panicked a little at first, it was a lot of fun.
On the last day, I visited Sensory Escape, a multi-sensory attraction in Singapore. This place immerses visitors in a world of light, sound, and nature, with six gardens designed to stimulate different senses. It features zones like the Scented Sphere and Symphony Streams, as well as digital light art installations. It also showcases Singaporean and Peranakan culture through large structures like a traditional flip-flop, a giant tiffin box, and a visually reimagined traditional Peranakan house, part of a multi-sensory exhibition exploring Peranakan culture. Since the event runs from May 23 to August 31, 2025, I was lucky to catch a glimpse of this culture.
However, I made the mistake of visiting in the morning. I highly recommend going in the evening or at night to experience the light show and AI-generated 3D-art that makes the place breathtaking.
Another major reason to visit Singapore is the food. If you’re Indian or vegetarian, you’re in luck—there are plenty of options. Even if you want to try different cuisines, there’s a wide variety to choose from.
I mostly dined at a couple of restaurants in the Rasa Sentosa hotel. Some of the best experiences were lunch with a beachside view at Trapizza and meals at Silver Shell Café, where I went for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The café offered an array of dishes, from Indian to Singaporean, Malay, Italian, and Chinese. You name it, they had it.
