Experience the sights of Biome

The photographic journey Biome through Western Ghats will have 55 photographs on display.

Bestowed with cascading waterfalls, lush green forests teeming with diverse flora and fauna, the Western Ghats is truly a photographer’s paradise. Photographers with a bend for training their lenses on the natural world can expect a bounty in terms of the images that are captured. But it is not an easy job. “Wildlife Photography is always a waiting game and it’s all about knowing the subject and the patience to pursue those frames that we wish for,” famous photographer Frans Lanting once quoted; most nature photographers would unhesitatingly agree. The most elusive captures have meant hours of squatting, sighting through lenses, bending, or plain lying on the ground but all with spectacular results.

With an aim to give voice to the natural world, there will be an exhibition titled Biome on life in the Western Ghats by 11 photographers at Chithrashala Art Gallery at Kerala Lalithakala Akademi in Thrissur for four days starting Thursday. The photographic journey Biome through Western Ghats will have 55 photographs on display.
