Tirumala laddu begins sacred journey to Ayodhya

Tirupati: The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams dispatched a truck-load of one lakh Srivari Laddu Prasadams from Tirumala to Tirupati airport, for its airlifting to Ayodhya for the Prana Pratista ceremony of Sri Ram Mandir.

The consecration of the temple in Ayodhya would take place on Jan 22. The laddus are meant to be distributed to devotees at the Prana Pratista event.

These were specially prepared with pure ghee by the Tirumala temple kitchen staff. They were packed into 350 boxes by the Srivari sevaks for dispatch by a special cargo flight on Friday evening from Tirupati Airport to Ayodhya, TTD additional executive officer V Veerabrahmam said.

The cargo flight of the Aero group was arranged by TTD board member Sharat Chandra Reddy. The Srivari laddus would be handed over to the Sri Rama Janmabhoomi Theertha Kshetra Trust in Ayodhya on Saturday.

TTD trust board member Sourabh Bora and former board member Rameshwar Rao donated 2,000 kg each of pure ghee for the preparation of these divine offerings.

As the trucks loaded with laddus started from Tirumala Srivari Seva Sadan to Tirupati, devotees and sevaks chanted 'Jai Sri Ram' and 'Govinda'. TTD chief PRO Talari Ravi said it was a matter of devotion and privilege for Tirumala laddus to be made a part of such an auspicious Hindu ceremony.
