Seniors shine at Kala Ghoda Arts Festival 2025 with GenS Life Showcase
For the first time, seniors take center stage at the iconic festival, celebrating creativity, passion, and life after 60

The 25th edition of the Kala Ghoda Arts Festival (KGAF) saw a groundbreaking moment with a senior showcase hosted by GenS Life. For the first time in the festival’s Silver Jubilee year, the spotlight was on the vibrant 60+ community. A diverse ensemble of 40 senior dancers, under the guidance of renowned choreographers Sandip Soparrkar and Abhishek Bohara, brought the stage alive with a powerful, inclusive performance.
The event also marked the official launch of the GenS Life anthem, Kahaani Abhi Baaki Hai, sung by the legendary Usha Uthup. This anthem, a tribute to the boundless potential of life after 60, resonated deeply with the audience, reinforcing GenS Life’s mission to empower seniors to embrace aging with passion and purpose.
Speaking about the vision behind the event, Meenakshi Menon, Founder of GenS Life, said, “This is just the beginning. Kahaani Abhi Baaki Hai is more than a song; it’s a movement. We aim to redefine what aging looks like and create a community that empowers seniors to live fulfilling lives.”
Choreographer Sandip Soparrkar, who curated the performance, expressed his admiration for the senior dancers, saying, “Age is just a number. The energy and grace these seniors brought to the stage were inspiring. GenS Life is doing remarkable work, and I am honored to have been a part of this initiative.”
In a unique addition to the event, the Mumbai Harmonics, a group of senior musicians, captivated the crowd with soulful harmonica performances. Their joy and passion for music, despite not being professional musicians, further exemplified the message of the event: creativity knows no age.
Dr. Anonna Guha, dance curator at KGAF, highlighted the significance of the senior showcase, stating, “This performance broke barriers and brought a fresh perspective on aging and artistic expression. It was a truly special moment in the history of KGAF.”
The event concluded with a heartwarming celebration, as the crowd joined in singing Kahaani Abhi Baaki Hai, dancing and clapping, embracing the truth that the best stories are still unfolding.
