TTD organises Karthika Deepotsavam in Tirupati

Tirupati: The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) organised a grand Karthika Deepotsavam festival on Monday, at the TTD Parade Grounds in Tirupati. The auspicious event, held for the third consecutive year under the TTD's all-dharmic projects initiative, marked the observance of Karthika Masam, a sacred month in the Hindu calendar.

Thousands of ghee lamps illuminated the grounds, creating a mesmerizing spectacle as devotees gathered to participate in the mass lighting ritual. The air resonated with the chanting of Vedic hymns guided by priests, creating an atmosphere of deep devotion and spirituality.

A series of rituals were performed throughout the evening, including Viswaksena Aradhana, Punyahavachanam, Vishnu Sahasranama Parayanam, and Lakshmi Puja. These rituals are believed to dispel darkness, bring in light, and invoke blessings from the divine.

Students of SV College of Music and Dance captivated the audience with a dance ballet on Shiva-Keshava Vaibhavam, showcasing the harmonious union of Shiva and Vishnu, two of the principal deities in Hinduism. The performance was followed by soul-stirring renditions of Govinda Namas and Kumbha Harati, further enhancing the spiritual ambience of the event.

Kurtalam Peethadhipati Siddheswarananda Bharati Theertha Swamy, the chief guest, expressed his appreciation for TTD's efforts in organising the spiritually enriching event. TTD chairman Bhumana Karunakar Reddy emphasized the program's purpose of enlightening devotees on the rich traditions and values of Hindu Sanatana dharma.

TTD executive officer A.V. Dharma Reddy announced that Govinda Koti and Srinivasa Divyanugraha Puja will also be held this month, providing devotees with further opportunities to deepen their spiritual connection.
