Tirumala's seven hills echo with Ramanjaneya japam

ANANTAPUR: The seven hills of Tirumala echoed with Ramanama-Anjaneya Japam on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti at Tirumala on Sunday. Lord Hanuman is believed to have been born at Anjanadri, part of Tirumala’s seven hills.

The day started with a special Abhishekam at the Bedi Anjaneya Swamy Temple located opposite Lord Sri Venkateswara Swamy Shrine, followed by Abhishekam and special pujas for Sri Balanjaneya Swamy at Akasa Ganga.

TTD JEO Veerabrahmam, SVBC CEO Shanmukh Kumar and deputy EOs Lokanatham and Selvam were among those present. Later, Veerabrahmam presented Vastrams on behalf of TTD to Sri Japali Anjaneya.

In the evening, priests performed special pujas to Sri Prasanna Anjaneya Swamy Statue at the Seventh Mile Stone of the Tirumala Ghat Road.

On the first day of the five-day-long fete, Sri Sachidananda Theertha Swamy of Tapovanam, Tuni, delivered his sermon at the Nada Neerajanam. He said Rama-Hanuma Nama japams ward off all difficulties in society. SVVU vice chancellor Ranisadasiva Murthy and Annamacharya project Director Vibhishana Sharma were present at the discourse.

On the occasion of the Hanuman Jayanti, students of TTD schools recited Rama Japam-Hanuman Chalisa at Akasa Ganga under the aegis of the HDP project. Artists presented Annamacharya Hanuman sankeertanas on the occasion.

Hanuman Jayanti was also celebrated at all temples in the Rayalaseema region, including the five-centuries-old historic Kasapuram Nettikanti Hanuman Temple in Guntakal mandal.

Hanuman Jayanti is being celebrated for three days at the biggest statue of Lord Hanuman Temple in AP at the Housing Board in Anantapur.
