TIRUPATI: TTD chairman and executive officer (C&EO) K. S. Jawahar Reddy announced on Friday that with the noble aim of protecting and promoting ‘desi’ or Indian cow breeds, the Devasthanam has decided to introduce a new ‘Navaneetha Seva’. Additional philanthropists will be roped in to enhance ‘go seva’ activities.
Addressing media persons after the maiden meeting of TTD Specified Authority in Tirumala along with convenor and additional EO Dharma Reddy, the C&EO said as part of mission to save desi cows, the specified authority deliberated on three important tasks – protection and promotion of desi breeds, go mata-based Naivedyam for Srivaru and promotion of organic farming using cow products (Panchagavya).
Jawahar Reddy said that they have entered into a pact with S.V. Veterinary University experts on breeding policies, feed mixing and embryo transfer technology for promoting desi cow breeds. “We have already decided on sale of agarbattis made with organic products in Tirumala from August 15. Some other Panchagavya products will be released in the next three to four months'', he stated.
On other important decisions taken by the specified authority, the EO said they will print 15 lakh 12-sheet calendars, eight lakh deluxe diaries and two lakh small diaries for year 2022. As part of protecting environs of Tirumala in a phased manner, TTD will deploy electric vehicles in place of diesel and petrol ones. “To start with, 35 battery-operated cars will be procured through public sector Energy Efficiency Service Limited (EESL) on a trial basis,” the C&EO disclosed.
The specified authority decided on allocating Rs. 8.94 crore from SRIVANI Trust for developing certain temples in Andhra Pradesh, as advised by Tridandi Chinna Jeeyar Swamy. Rs. 80 lakh have been sanctioned for reconstruction of Sri Sita Ramaswamy Temple in Nellore district.
For enhancing security at Tirumala, the board has decided to procure surveillance cameras and X-ray baggage scanners. A high-end flat detector cath lab and heart-lung machine will be set up in S. V. Paediatric Hospital. Other decisions include modernising TTD printing press by inviting expression of interest under PPP, and revamping editorial board of Sapthagiri magazine with renowned scholars.
