Mangalagiri to host all-India devotional festival tomorrow

VIJAYAWADA: Panakala Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple, Mangalagiri, is organising a devotional cultural festival with artists from all states of the country, coinciding with Muthyala Vahanaotsavam on July 3.

As it will be a record-breaking event, it will feature in the Guinness Book of Records and Indian Book of Records on the day.

Festival committee organiser Anga Upendra Varma said that for the first time in Indian history, different types of traditional and cultural artists are going to put up temple traditional sound/music/dance programmes at a time at one place on the occasion of the Guru Purnima at the Panakala Lakshmi Narasimha Temple.

Nearly 1,200 artists will be participating as part of 30 different band/music/dance groups.

Varma said the tribal band / sound / music / dance of the two Telugu states will be a special attraction. Dance programmes include Bharatanatyam, Kathakali, Thirakali and Kalimatha.
