Romance is never-ending, says Ravinder Singh
KOZHIKODE: “Romance or love is the perfect tool to communicate with the present generation on serious topics, as romance is never-ending,” according to noted romantic novelist Ravinder Singh. Interacting with a young crowd as part of the book tour of his latest work, This love that feels right, at DC bookstall here on Thursday, he said “books are the window to the world.”
He added, “it is romance that attracts young readers to books. In fact, while it is thought that we authors can inspire readers, it is actually the other way round. We are inspired by readers, and this unique series of interactions with youngsters is helping me understand what they wish to read,” he said. As many as 200 school and college students and also a few others gathered at the venue to talk to the popular writer whose seven books have so far sold two million copies around the globe.
Ravinder said, “what I noticed in the present generation of readers is that they are very vocal and want to clear the doubts about the text they go through. It is definitely the readers who inspire me to write,” he added. When a student asked why he writes only about romance, he replied: “Why not romance. My readers expect me to write more about romance which is an inspiration for me to write about romance, which is never-ending.” “Reading gives us experiences that we never had or may not have for ourselves,” he asserted.
