Taking the cause of promoting new talent a step further, Hyderabad-based artist Fawad Tamkanat and Kalpana Shah jointly curated an art exhibition titled Tiger at Tao Art Gallery in Mumbai recently, where 80 artists from all over India fiberglass tiger masks, photographs and paintings.
Interestingly, the entire Ambani family including Tina Ambani, Nita Ambani, their son and daughter-in-law along with mother Kokilaben Ambani were present at the art show, appreciating the works on display. Isheta, a young photographer and Mukesh and Anil Ambani’s niece had also exhibited her work. “My connection with Tina Ambani goes back a long way. I worked with her for the Harmony Art Show years back. Isheta is a very talented photographer and loves to click tigers. So we thought it would be nice to have her work as well,” explains Fawad. Other eminent business families like the Goenkas and Salgaonkars from Goa and actress Waheeda Rehman also made their presence felt and appreciated the art works. “Next, I will be taking the exhibition to Singapore where I will work with 20 Singaporean artists along with 40 from India,” he says.
