Harry Potter, Tintin to be taught in ICSE classrooms soon
Even the Feluda series, Agatha Christie novels and The Hobbit will be taught in classrooms.
Studying English Literature is going to be a lot more fun if you are student studying in the board of The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination (ICSE). Popular fictional works like Harry Potter will soon be officially part of the syllabus from the 2017-18 academic session.
The syllabus of classes from III to VIII will also have graphic novels of Asterix, Tintin, and the American cartoonist Art Speigelman’s Holocast saga ‘Maus. Even the Feluda series, Agatha Christie novels and The Hobbit will be taught in classrooms.
Moreover, there are also reports of autobiographies of Anne Frank, Malala, and APJ Abdul Kalam being added to the curriculum in the future.
