Rajini's daughter Aishwarya now pens a book
Aishwarya, Rajinikanth’s daughter and Dhanush’s wife, has turned an author with her book Standing On an Apple Box.
The book, which is about Aishwarya’s experiences of being the daughter of a superstar, will release on Rajinikanth’s birthday this year, on December 12.
“The book is about my childhood memories, growing up as a celebrity’s kid, appa being a superstar and amma in her own ways a celeb, being married to a person who is equally big in the industry, and being the mother to two kids, and the high and lows of my life,” says Aishwarya.
Writing scripts is different from authoring a book. How did the idea come to her? “I used to write right from my school and college days. I would write short phrases and used to think they were poems. I strongly believe that writing brings out one’s thoughts and expressions well. But I never thought of writing a book. However, I showed my recent writings to my close friends who suggested that I get them published. That’s when the idea came about.” The director quickly adds, “I was overwhelmed when the publishers accepted my first draft itself.” Will it be an autobiographical recounting?
“No, not at all! It is straight and simple and one can share the book with one’s father, mother, daughters and sons. It will be like reading a diary,” she reveals. The title of the book is intriguing.
“Yes, it is related to a few of the chapters. That’s the ‘sweet and special’ episodes of the book. I don’t want to give out too much. Let people keep guessing.”
Aishwarya says that she is still pondering over the idea of using individual pictures in the book. “I am looking at 200 to 250 pages and am planning to release it on my dad’s birthday on December 12.”
