Stark reality conveyed in visuals!
I am seeking. I am striving. I am in it with all my heart — Vincent Van Gogh .
There are stark resemblances in the way Nikil Inaya approaches his works, with that of Vincent Van Gogh, the God of art. His works resemble the ruggedness of the Fauvists and the swagger of Van Gogh. The art show has multiple significances. Each work is put through a throught provoking process. There’s a significance in the statue’s destruction unmatched by its own particular status in origin.
The works in this collection, imagined in 2017, reflect upon a crucial paradox: to conserve the decay of time. At its source are varying types of eastern and western artworks, models, frescos, bas-reliefs and associated verse. The preparatory arrangement takes after a figural development in the wake of disintegration. In a demonstration of combination amongst deconstruction and remaking, theater turns into the canvas in ruins. Similarly as the figure is formed from the scene so too does it come back to the earth, abandoning untitled Fragments.
This contemplation of lost time without further ado proclaims a resuscitated attitude toward Hoysala design and Greco-Roman elegance alike, while scrutinising the same, and gives the illusion of wandering into a tunnel through dust... Jasu Rawal’s the legendary artist offers hia opinion on Nikil’s works, “I see paintings as an absolute. Subject matter is immaterial to me. Nikil’s paintings leave me amazed with the content it has! I see a lot of me in the artist and he is an extremely soft spoken guy who let’s his work speak for himself. This is Nikil’s second show in the last few months and promises much in terms of creative visualsation. Yhe artist’s works are definitely finding new admirers and one can only predict a bright future for him.”
The show is on at Art Houz until 24th October.
