Children and Ikebana don’t sound synonymous, but an Ikebana exhibition ‘Hyderabad: Props and Rocks’ by tiny tots at Saptaparni smashed it the right way.

The exhibition was the result of a three-day workshop for the kids, who were asked to arrange their Ikebana display based on anything they relate the city with.

“Children have very imaginative minds and we wanted them to explore it with Ikebana. While few of the participants knew what Ikebana is, others didn’t have any clue. So we conducted a workshop to make them familiar with the concept. All of them have come with great concepts and displays,” said Rekha Reddy, First Master, Ohara Ikebana while explaining about the exhibition.

Talking about innovative concepts, there were a varied display right from the Pullela Gopichand Academy with flowers and shuttle cock by Jiya Naidu to Jay Agarwal’s the cricket and cricketers in the city. On the other hand, Prithvi A.G. Reddy took inspiration from the Hyderabadi Biriyani and Adhvik Reddy gave the jewels of Nizam a fresh touch.
