Quite a list it is, when you scroll through the list of speakers at the Kerala Literature Festival, to be held at Kozhikode next month. From MT Vasudevan Nair to Arundhati Roy, K. Satchidanandan to Jerry Pinto, M. Mukundan to K.R. Meera, there is an amazing array of writers. Veterans from the media like B.R.P. Bhaskar, Manu Joseph and Rajdeep Sardesai are coming. Architect Gautam Bhatia, activist Sunitha Krishnan, feminist Bama Soosairaj, historian Romila Thapar and actor Prakash Raj are there too. Politicians Subhashini Ali and Jairam Ramesh as well. Irish writer Amanda Bell,   German publisher Juergen Boos and Irish historian Conor Kostick will also be there.

The Kerala Literary Festival conceived by DC Books as a platform for generations of writers, and people from the cultural field to come together, is going into its third edition this February. One of the themes this time is the challenge to the freedom of writers and artistes. The fest will also look at the trends in contemporary literature and the kinship between literature and other arts. Cultural events will also be there.
