Author of Divided Minds, Sanjay Koppikar, an IT honcho, entrepreneur, the co-founder and CEO of Quadwave gets candid in this quick-fire…
Your biggest pet peeve?
Smokers who do not care about others around them and people who throw trash from their car window as they drive.
Wildest fantasy?
Ahem! Seriously? Making a movie with Big B — this has been a fantasy for the past 25 years now.
Favourite author?
Dan Brown is one of my favourites in the recent past. I like the pace and thrill he builds up in his novels. I have been a great fan of Charles Dickens (so much so that I travelled the entire distance to just visit the Dickens Museum in London during his bicentennial birth year!). I like the way he builds his characters — especially the bad ones.
One guilty pleasure you succumb to?
The one I always used to succumb to were sweets. But since I have stopped eating them, I feel I have become a complete sanyasi.
A trait that not many people know about you?
I am lazy on many fronts.
One super power you wish you had?
Multiplicity — like the one in the Michael Keaton movie with the same name. I could be at all the places and do all the stuff at once while I laze around as well.
A song that you would never delete from your playlist?
“Yun hi chala chal raahi, yun hi chala chal raahi; Jeevan gadi hai samay pahiya,” from Swades.
One writing trend that you don’t get?
Books with a lot of statistics to prove a point. I say, tell me the story and I get it!
A movie you love?
There are a lot of movies which I love. There are few for every mood. So it is difficult to pick just one.
Writing to you is...
Just one means of telling a story. And I love all modes of telling stories.
