4-year-old girl becomes librarian for the day' at the world's largest library

Her mother says that her daughter began reading at the tender age of two.

Little Daliyah Marie Arana is not your average bookworm. She has read more books than most people five times her age. The 4-year-old girl, who has already read more than 1,000 books, got to be ‘librarian for the day’ at Library of Congress.

Daliyah’s mother says that her daughter began reading at the tender age of two. She even participated in Georgia’s 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten initiative. The programme encourages children to finish reading 1,000 books before their first day of kindergarten.

Not surprisingly, Daliyah plans to read even more in the future. She has told news station CBS46 that she wants to “read 100,000”.
