The many facets of creativity
Vistas a series of paintings by commercial and concept artist Seshagiri is currently on display at the Iconart Gallery. The artist, who was born in Tenali, Andhra Pradesh, and brought up in a rural setting, has explored a variety of mediums. From pencil sketches to oil paintings, and even digital art he has done it all, and he strongly believes that an artist’s creativity is limitless, no matter the medium.
Seshagiri started his career as an artist for a company in Guntur that produced publicity material. “With the emergence of digital media, I started learning graphic design and multimedia design. I am a firm believer that the key to achieving success as a digital artist is a strong foundation in traditional art. The mood of an artwork determines whether digital art, traditional art, or a combination of the two should be used. My main objective is to bring creative ideas to life through visual means,” he says.
The paintings in Seshagiri’s Vistas are oils on canvas and acrylics on canvas. One of the most spectacular among them is Sivoham, a 54x75 inch painting that depicts the Nandi bull in its full glory alongside an Indian classical dancer in bright golden hues.
