Snowman-making competition in Kashmir offers Rs. 1 lakh prize money
The education department of Jammu and Kashmir has announced a snow art competition to spark the creative potential of students in the state and the winner gets to take Rs 1 lakh home. The valley happened to receive heavy snowfall just last week after a long dry spell.
Students wishing to participate in the competition are required to build a snowman, snow sculpture or any other form of snow art. They then have to click three photos of their artwork from different angles and mail it to the education department. Participants can also send the pictures and video footage to the offices of the Cultural Coordinators of the respective Chief Education Officers, according to reports.
The state level winner will be rewarded Rs 1 lakh in cash as well as a citation. Separate prizes will be given to others who ace at different levels of the competition. Snow art works created after January 6 – the day of the first major snowfall of this season – are eligible for the contest.
