Vijayawada: Books on spirituality most sought after
VIJAYAWADA: The 29th Book fair entered into the second half of its duration. With the Fair scheduled to conclude on Jan. 11, people, specially book lovers and students, are thronging the venue. The sale of Muslim literature in Telugu, apart from Urdu and Arabic books has increased. Several books on culture, religion and spiritual books in Urdu translated to Telugu are being bought by the Muslims in the city.
The stall put up by ‘Telugu Islamic Publication Trust’, Hyderabad, is one of the busiest in the Book Fair. It has become easy for the Muslim book lovers to buy all type of literature at one place. There are the books on Holy Quran, the spiritual speeches of Mohammed Pravakta, ‘Mahapravakta Bodhanalu’, life history of Pravakta – ‘Mahapravakta Jeevitha Charitra’, Islam Jeevana Sarali (the Islamic lifestyle), Swatantrya Samarayodhulu from the Muslim community, books on rights of Muslims, humanity, and these are being sold in large numbers.
As The Trust is giving discount to Muslims, many are happy buying them. “I am very happy that books on spiritualism and others on culture and religion are available at one place. We buy several books of our culture as they will be useful for the next generation,” said Alandar Hussain of Badampudi near Tadepalligudem.
“The sales of spiritual books has increased. Many from across the state are coming to use as we are offering discount on the books,” said Abdul Khadar, Telugu Islamic Publication Trust. “The numbers are very encouraging.
