An artist par excellence

Sujith Sudhi is a renowned artist whose paintings hang on the walls of homes across the world.

Art is a choice and Sujith Sudhi uses watercolour to give colour to his ideas. His paintings displayed at White Walls Art Gallery all look real because of his unparalleled understanding of lighting and the water colour medium.

“You have to see the beauty in everything to evolve into a better artist,” explains Sujith.

Speaking about his inspiration he says that “ As a child I was inspired by R.K Laxman’s cartoons and used to copy his works from newspapers and periodicals.”

He says that he had the good fortune of painting under the tutelage of the great master of watercolour, the late Ambadas Maharkur, and that set him on the path of becoming a full-time artist.

Sujith's works hang on the walls of patrons in several countries. He gained international fame and recognition when his painting was selected to be one among the 120 watercolour paintings being published by Splash.

Sujith's painting have travelled to several cities across the globe including New York, Houston, New Orleans, Madison, Chicago, Dubai, Goa and Pune. His passion for painting has helped him manage both his IT profession and art with ease.

Like any other fascinated kid, he also tested his painting skills on the walls of his home, much to the dismay of his parents.

On what made him a better artist, he says “ It was overcoming the fear of failure and the ability to visualise things compressively that made me a better artist.”

Like any other successful person, he believes that his paintings can be made much better and promises to continue to keep learning more about the different aspects of painting.

Milind Mulick,Vikas Kulkarni, Bijay Biswa and John Yardley are his favourite watercolour painters.

“ I feel India is blessed with plenty of painters who can influence the minds of people and bring out their feelings and messages through their paintings,” he sums up.
