City artist Harrsha Samudrala’s talent has got him places and recently, his sketch of Amitabh Bachchan was acknowledged by the superstar himself! Harsha had shared the video of the sketch on social media and it happened to reach Big B, who thanked his fan by posting the video on Facebook and Twitter, captioning it, “Thank you for this Harrsha and for Moses to send this to me... Incredible! (sic)” Harrsha’s upside down drawing of Big B has almost a million views and likes and has been trending online.
Harrsha pursued BSc in mathematics and electronics and is currently working as an art trainer and dance choreographer at the Delhi Public School. “Since my childhood, I’ve always loved art and dance. I’m a certified Zumba and aerobics instructor. I’ve sketched a lot of celebrities. Nagarjuna and Rajinikanth have personally thanked me too. But after Amitabh Bachchan shared the video, I received 700 plus messages and almost 400 calls! My phone has now hung because of it,” says the 29-year-old, excitedly.
Harrsha can sketch and paint using vegetables, thermocol and can also draw with his legs while dancing. “Amitabh loved the sketch so much that he said he would meet me. I’m now planning on sketching 1,000 portraits non-stop in 24 hours and entering the Guinness World Records and India Book of Records. I will use half of my earnings to feed the poor,” he says.
