Actor-producer Dhanush, who recently shifted his interests from Anirudh (thanks to the ‘Beep Song’ controversy) and signed up Santhosh Narayanan for his upcoming flick Kodi, has now chosen maestro Ilaiyaraaja for yet another production venture titled Amma Kanakku.
The film is an official remake of critically acclaimed Bollywood movie Nil Battey Sannata that was directed by Ashwini Iyer Tiwari. It dwells on a mother-daughter relationship, and depicts the ups and downs of human emotions. While Amala Paul, Revathi, Samudhrakani play crucial roles, Dhanush is bringing Ashwini Iyer to Tamil, who will wield the megaphone for this movie as well. The national award winner has brought Isai Gnani on board for this family drama. He took to his micro-blog and wrote, “Super proud to announce that Wunderbar Films Amma Kanakku will have the blessings of Ilaiyaraaja sir’s music.”
This is the third time the Aadukalam star will be collaborating with Raja. His earlier films Adhu Oru Kanaa Kaalam in Balu Mahendra’s direction and his recent Shamitabh in Balki’s direction had the maestro’s musical compositions.
