For Kajal Aggarwal, 2015 was an average year with no big hits. Now, it looks like this year is starting on a good note. Having missed out on teaming with Jiiva for his earlier flick Yaan, the pretty actress is now working with the former for Kavalai Vendam, which is a multi-starrer. Bobby Simha and Sunaina (who returns after a gap) also play lead roles. RS Infotainment, which bankrolls the film, is joining hands with Jiiva for the second time after their mega hit Ko.
Deekay of Yaamirukka Bayame fame, directs the movie. Earlier, Keerthy Suresh who was supposed to romance Jiiva, but due to unforeseen reasons, the actress backed out and Kajal was brought in.
Apparently Kajal is excited that she has bagged a meaty role. Says Deekay who is glad about his casting, “Kavalai... is a film on human emotions. It is about romance, human relationships, breakups and patch-ups. The heroine’s character has an equal bearing as that of the hero in the script. I knew both Jiiva sir and Kajal when I was assisting KV Anand sir in Ko and Matraan respectively. After choosing Jiiva, Kajal was my first choice,” he tells DC. Shruti Ramakrishna of 144 fame, Mandra, RJ Balaji, Bala Saravanan are among the rest of the cast.
