Hindu Makkal Katchi objects to Trisha, Vishal Peta links
Fringe outfit has accused of denying the right of Tamils with respect to the jallikattu issue.

Chennai: The Hindu Makkal Katchi has taken objection to Tamil film stars’ connections with Peta, which the fringe outfit has accused of denying the right of Tamils with respect to the jallikattu issue.
In a statement, Veera Manickam Siva, state secretary of the HMK, has singled out actors Trisha and Vishal, who is the Nadigar Sangam general secretary, as prominent artists maintaining links with Peta.
“These actors should at once dissociate themselves from Peta, the animal rights group which is in principle responsible for the ban on jallikattu. Peta acts against the interest of Tamils and Tamil emotions,” Siva’s statement read.
The outfit then went on to declare that it would prevent the release of films that these actors are a part of, unless they denounce Peta.
