Karimnagar: Student Electrocuted While Cutting Branches In Hostel
The police have registered a case and sent the body to the Government Hospital for post-mortem examination.

KARIMNAGAR: A 22-year-old final-year engineering student was electrocuted while trimming tree branches at a private hostel on the outskirts of Thimmapur mandal in Karimnagar district.
The deceased Hanamdla Vikas Reddy, a BTech (CSE) final-year student of Jyothishmathi Institute of Technology and Sciences (JITS) and a native of Lyagalamarri village in Pegadapalli mandal of Jagtial district, was asked by the hostel owner to assist in clearing tree branches within the hostel.
According to local police, the student was staying at Sri Rama Hostel in Thimmapur mandal. The hostel owner Santosh Rao instructed Vikas Reddy and another hostel-mate to climb a tree and cut its overgrown branches.
While carrying out the task Vikas Reddy came in contact with live electrical wires running near the tree and fell from the tree after he was electrocuted and died on the spot.
The police have registered a case and sent the body to the Government Hospital for post-mortem examination.
Meanwhile, after learning about the incident, a large number of JITS students gathered at the hospital to pay their final respects. The incident sparked outrage among students who condemned the unsafe practices at unregulated private hostels and called for immediate government intervention.
