HYDERABAD: Telangana Youth Services Department and Telangana State Society for Training and Employment Promotion (TS-STEP) held a ‘mega job mela’ in the Quthbullapur Assembly constituency on Monday.
About 118 private companies took part in the mela and offered 10,000 jobs.
The mela was inaugurated by BRS Quthbullapur MLA K.P. Vivekanand in the presence of ministers V. Srinivas Goud and Ch. Malla Reddy.
Youth thronged the venue and attended the interviews held for job selections. About 4,725 youth registered their names for the meal. Companies recruited 269 candidates on the spot and another 1,458 candidates were shortlisted for the final selection process.
Vivekanand along with ministers handed over appointment letters to candidates who were selected on the spot. Few transgender candidates also took part. Companies selected two transgenders and three specially-abled candidates.
MLA Vivekanand thanked companies and youth for making the mela a grand success. He said selected candidates were offered salaries ranging from Rs10,000 to Rs 80,000 per month.
