Kadapa: Dr. YSR Architecture and Fine Arts University at Kadapa is introducing a special four-year course on game designing, which is first in engineering colleges of Andhra Pradesh. The course is expected to be in huge demand, as most people, no matter their age, are interested in playing online games.
Game designing is thus a highly rewarding career option for students, senior faculty member P. Uma Devi told Deccan Chronicle. She pointed out that gaming industry is developing rapidly and employment opportunities for students are good. Salaries are also high.
Umadevi said job outlook for video game designers has been positive since 2019 and is expected to only go up. As per an estimate, there will be 32,090 new jobs available by 2029, representing an annual increase of 2.28 percent over next few years. Jobs will be in the fields of 3D modelling, animation, design documentation, game balancing, interactive storytelling, interface design and gamification. Students taking up these courses can also choose their career in IT industry.
Those who have completed their intermediate in MPC stream or have a diploma can get admission through EAPCET. Total 60 seats are available in the university, with 15 seats being under management quota. For details, students can browse the university website drysrafu.ac.in.
