Kapu students can apply for funds to study abroad

VIJAYAWADA: Andhra Pradesh State Kapu Welfare and Development Corporation chairman Adapa Seshagiri (Seshu) has asked economically backward students belonging to Kapu, Balija, Telaga and Ontari castes not to hesitate if wanting to pursue their higher studies abroad. He underlined that Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has started Jagananna Videsi Vidya Deevena scheme for them to fulfil their dreams.

Seshu explained that candidates with annual income less than ₹8 lakh can apply for the abroad education scheme to pursue their post-graduation, Ph. D or MBBS course. The government will pay 100 per cent tuition fees for students getting admission in World 1 to 100-ranked universities. Those selected in universities ranked from 101 to 200 will get ₹50 lakh or up to 50 per cent of their tuition fee.

The corporation chairman underlined that state government has also released ₹1 crore for constructing Kapu Kalyana Mandapams and community halls in Vijayawada central constituency.

He said Munnuru Kapu people from six mandals of Chintur, Kunavaram, Atapaka, Kukunoor, Velerupadu and Burgampadu of Telangana region in undivided Andhra Pradesh can apply for BC (D) certificates of the state government.
