40 Ekalavya school students fall ill in Mahbubabad

Some of the students who had their breakfast in the first session started vomiting and complained of loose motions

MAHBUBABAD: As many as 40 students studying in Ekalavya Girls Residential School at Sirolu village in Kuravi mandal of Mahbubabad district fell ill on Tuesday after their breakfast.

There are around 300 students studying in this school. Some of the students who had their breakfast in the first session started vomiting and complained of loose motions. Knowing this, school staff called health officials, who provided them required treatment in the school campus itself. It is stated parents of the kids who took ill were not informed about the mishap.

Tribal welfare minister Satyavathi Rathode, who came to know about the incident, inquired into the issue. She said all students of the school are safe, as they were given treatment immediately. She asked parents and other children not to worry. She, however, ordered an inquiry into the incident and action against those responsible.
