IIT-H and UoH find top slots in national institutional ranking framework

UoH is ranked ninth among all universities while IIT Hyderabad improved its ranking from 17 in 2020 to 16

Hyderabad: University of Hyderabad (UoH) and IIIT-Hyderabad have been ranked among India's best educational institutions for 2021 by the Union education ministry. The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) was released on Thursday.

According to NIRF, a government on India backed survey, the rankings were developed from more than 5,000 institutions that had applied.

UoH is ranked ninth among all universities while IIT Hyderabad improved its ranking from 17 in 2020 to 16. Over 200 Universities were surveyed for the rankings.

In the overall institutions category, UoH was ranked at 17, and IITH maintained its position within the Top 10 ranks among the technical institutes. This year IITH also entered the Top 600 bracket in the QS World University Rankings for the first time.

Every year, the education ministry ranks the universities and institutions of India based on specific parameters. The parameters cover categories like ‘Teaching, Learning and Resources’, ‘Research and Professional Practices’, ‘Graduation Outcomes’, ‘Outreach and Inclusivity’, and ‘Perception’. Placements and research publications are key parameters.
