Telangana govt. issues orders to fill 50K job vacancies

KCR directs officials to categorise all posts in various departments

HYDERABAD: The state government on Friday issued orders categorising all posts in various departments as district, zonal and multi-zonal cadres based on creation of new districts and a new zonal system approved by the President in April last.

The posts were categorised by taking into account 33 districts, seven zones and two multi zones. There are no state-level posts like Group-I now unlike in the past.

This was done to ensure 95 per cent reservations for locals in government posts in all districts and zones. The categorization has paved way for issuing of long-pending job notifications on the same lines.

Chief minister Chandrashekar Rao had announced the government would fill over 50,000 vacancies in various departments in December, 2020. This could not be done as the Centre's approval and President's nod for new zonal system was pending.

The recommendation from the state was cleared in April this year and even after that, the issuing of job notifications got delayed. The CM directed officials to categorize all posts district-wise, zone-wise and multi-zone wise and issue notifications accordingly.

This categorisation has now been completed. The job notifications are expected to be issued any time to fill about 55,000 vacancies in phases as all procedural hurdles have been cleared.
