JNU professor is new V-C of Maulana Azad National Urdu University

Prof. Hasan has more than 34 years of teaching experience and has guided 87 research scholars

Hyderabad: Prof. Ainul Hasan of the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), Delhi, was appointed Vice-Chancellor of the Maulana Azad National Urdu University (Manuu). A noted scholar in Persian, Prof. Hasan has been appointed for a five-year term. The appointment of the fifth vice-chancellor of the university was announced by the Union education ministry.

Prof. Hasan is with the Persian and Central Asian Studies centre at JNU. Earlier he was Dean, School of Language, Literature and Culture Studies, JNU.

He is also president, All India Persian Scholars Association. Prof. Hasan has more than 34 years of teaching experience and has guided 87 research scholars.

A visiting professor of Rutgers State University, New Jersey, USA under the Fulbright scheme, Prof. Hasan has authored 13 books. He is a specialist in the field of Indo-Iran, Indo-Arab relations and comparative literature.
