Kakinada: As cases of Covid-19 have started declining, Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Kakinada (JNTU–K) is preparing to conduct its BTech, MTech, BPharmacy, MPharmacy, MCA and MBA examinations in a phased manner.
JNTU–K will first hold from July 19 to July 26 its B. Tech final year examinations, so that students can appear for job placements or enrol themselves for higher studies. Later, the second and third year exams will be conducted.
The final year mid examinations started on Monday and will end on Thursday. Only two students could not write the examinations on Monday, as they had been hospitalised due to Coronavirus.
JNTU–K Controller of Examinations Venkata Reddy said students who are unable to write their examinations due to Covid-19 can appear for them again. He said the first-year BTech, BPharmacy, MCA and MBA first semester examinations will start by end of July. The third year second semester exams will commence from the first week of August.
MTech, MBA, MCA and M. Pharmacy first year examinations will start in July end. Exams have been so planned that they will all be completed by end of August. The dates of second and third year exams will be announced after completion of fourth year and first year first semester examinations.
The controller of exams said all engineering, pharmacy and management colleges affiliated to JNTU–K have been directed to follow all Covid-19 protocols while conducting examinations. If any Coronavirus patients are writing their exams, they will be accommodated in a separate room. Their answer sheets will be kept in a safe custody for three days before being processed further.
