Defence and Home Ministers join PM in reviewing security; India rejects Trump’s claim of brokering peace with Pakistan.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is chairing a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security on Wednesday, the first since the pause in hostilities between India and Pakistan.He is joined by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Home Minister Amit Shah in the meeting that is assessing the latest security situation.
The prime minister will also chair the meeting of the Union Cabinet after the Cabinet Committee on Security meet. US President Donald Trump's claim of mediation between India and Pakistan in bringing about a halt in hostilities, has been rejected by India. Despite India's rebuttal, Trump again claimed that his government "brokered a historic ceasefire" between the two countries.

Cinema halls, shopping halls to remain shut from sunset to sunrise in Mohali, Pumjab
The district administration in Punjab's Mohali on Friday ordered the closure of cinema halls and shopping malls from sunset to sunrise till further orders, officials said.
The authorities also imposed a ban on the use of inverter, generator and any other power backup being used for outdoor lights, bill board, street lights etc. in Mohali till further orders, they said.

CPI general secretary D Raja on Friday urged Union minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to take action on "inflammatory and misleading content" being aired by several news channels following a military flare-up between India and Pakistan in the wake of Operation Sindoor.
In a letter, Raja urged Vaishnaw -- the Union information and broadcasting minister -- to act decisively against channels and platforms promoting communal hatred and spreading falsehoods.
