Defence and Home Ministers join PM in reviewing security; India rejects Trump’s claim of brokering peace with Pakistan.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is chairing a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security on Wednesday, the first since the pause in hostilities between India and Pakistan.He is joined by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Home Minister Amit Shah in the meeting that is assessing the latest security situation.
The prime minister will also chair the meeting of the Union Cabinet after the Cabinet Committee on Security meet. US President Donald Trump's claim of mediation between India and Pakistan in bringing about a halt in hostilities, has been rejected by India. Despite India's rebuttal, Trump again claimed that his government "brokered a historic ceasefire" between the two countries.

Evacuation underway in 5 border districts of Jammu region

Loud sound heard in Assam's Golaghat; officials blame 'sonic boom'
A loud, mysterious sound was heard in several places in Assam's Golaghat district on Friday, and preliminary investigation suggested it emitted from a 'sonic boom', the local administration said.
A sonic boom is a thunderous sound caused by the shock wave from an aircraft or other object travelling faster than the speed of sound.
The loud sound was heard in Merapani, Sarupathar and several other places in the district at around 3.35 pm, the Golaghat district administration said on its official Facebook page.

Hyderabad airport receives bomb threat e-mail, security stepped up
The Rajiv Gandhi International (RGIA) Airport in Hyderabad received a bomb threat e-mail on Friday, prompting authorities to step up security.
The mail warned that there were "sleeper cells" and the "airport" would explode, following which searches were carried out and nothing suspicious was found, police said.

Multiple aerial threats in Jaisalmer, intercepted
Multiple aerial threats coming from Pakistan were intercepted on Friday in Jaisalmer for a second consecutive night. The threat prompted forces to issue a red alert and blackouts in several border districts, creating panic among residents.
Soon after the attacks, sirens rang out in Pokaran, and a complete blackout was imposed in the region.
Following the attack, the blackout in Jodhpur, originally scheduled to begin at midnight, was implemented immediately.

Drone attack on Srinagar airport thwarted
Drone attacks on Srinagar airport and Awantipora air base were thwarted late on Friday, while blasts were heard in Jammu and parts of the south Kashmir region, officials said.The attack came a day after India thwarted attempts by the Pakistan military to hit Indian military installations using drones and missiles.
The sky was lit up in Baramulla district as the Indian military shot down Pakistani drones.

Addressing the special briefing on Operation Sindoor on Friday, Wing Commander Vyomika Singh exposed Pakistan's airspace tactics, saying that Islamabad deliberately kept its civil airspace open after launching a "failed unprovoked drone" and missile attack on Wednesday, effectively using civil airliners as shields.
