Defence and Home Ministers join PM in reviewing security; India rejects Trump’s claim of brokering peace with Pakistan.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is chairing a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security on Wednesday, the first since the pause in hostilities between India and Pakistan.He is joined by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Home Minister Amit Shah in the meeting that is assessing the latest security situation.
The prime minister will also chair the meeting of the Union Cabinet after the Cabinet Committee on Security meet. US President Donald Trump's claim of mediation between India and Pakistan in bringing about a halt in hostilities, has been rejected by India. Despite India's rebuttal, Trump again claimed that his government "brokered a historic ceasefire" between the two countries.

China 'strongly' urges India, Pakistan to exercise calm, restraint
China on Saturday "strongly" urged India and Pakistan to exercise calm and restraint and return to the track of peaceful settlement. China is closely following the ongoing situation between India and Pakistan and is deeply concerned about the escalation, a statement by the Chinese Foreign Ministry here.

Sikkim CM condemns Pak shelling on civilians, condoles death of J-K official
Sikkim Chief Minister PS Tamang on Saturday condemned Pakistani shelling across the Line of Control on civilians and condoled the death of a Jammu and Kashmir official in such an attack.

The US mission to Pakistan said it has restricted all personnel movements, as the Pakistani Army advised all residents of the country to remain in their homes until further notice amid current tensions with India.
A "Security Alert" issued by the US Embassy and Consulates in Pakistan said that "on 10 May, the Pakistan Army advised all residents of Pakistan to remain in their homes until further notice. The US Mission to Pakistan has restricted all personnel movements and will reassess this afternoon."
