Defence and Home Ministers join PM in reviewing security; India rejects Trump’s claim of brokering peace with Pakistan.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is chairing a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security on Wednesday, the first since the pause in hostilities between India and Pakistan.He is joined by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Home Minister Amit Shah in the meeting that is assessing the latest security situation.
The prime minister will also chair the meeting of the Union Cabinet after the Cabinet Committee on Security meet. US President Donald Trump's claim of mediation between India and Pakistan in bringing about a halt in hostilities, has been rejected by India. Despite India's rebuttal, Trump again claimed that his government "brokered a historic ceasefire" between the two countries.

J&K Authorities Warn Evacuated LoC Villagers Not to Return Due to Unexplored Shells
Authorities in Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday advised over 1.25 lakh residents evacuated from LoC-border villages in Baramulla, Bandipora and Kupwara not to return home yet, warning of unexplored munitions left behind after intense cross-border shelling by Pakistan. Police issued an advisory urging caution, stating that bomb disposal squads would first sanitize the area, citing 41 deaths from shell explosions near the LoC in 2023 alone. The advisory came after India and Pakistan agreed to a ceasefire on Saturday following Operation Sindoor, although India later accused Pakistan of violating the pact.

UP Man Booked for Objectionable Post on Operation Sindoor
A man identified as Vikky Khan, alias Sahil Khan, has been booked in Uttar Pradesh’s Kasganj for allegedly posting a provocative video on Facebook with insulting remarks against Operation Sindoor and the BJP, police said on Sunday. The complaint, filed by Sub-Inspector Karam Veer Singh, states that the post attempted to harm national unity. A case has been registered under Section 197 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the IT Act. Police said technical evidence has been collected and efforts are on to arrest the accused.
